Learn to lead climb
Lead climbing is a more advanced type of roped climbing. The climber has a rope attached to their harness and is clipping into anchor points while climbing, with a belay partner that is giving them rope as needed. It has more risk involved than normal top roping and so requires more skill and understanding.
The tradeoff is that you can tackle steeper terrain without risk of big swings, you don’t need a fixed rope already placed for you and it’s a lot of fun!
For those who have been top roping for a while and are interested in taking the next step with their climbing, our lead courses teach you everything you need know to lead climb and belay in our facility. Usually run over two sessions on a weekend, keep an eye out for our next advertised course.
We don’t cover the progression to outdoor climbing, however the skills you do learn from us will be relevant and useful for you when you decide to embark on that part of your climbing journey.
Classes will only run if we have a minimum of 5 people.
We reserve the right to cancel at any time.
Refunds will be provided for classes canceled by us.
You must have your own lead climbing approved harness to participate in the course. All other gear will be provided.
